Students of Davos Oberstufe have created this app as part of their Climate Action Labs plastic waste project; its aim is to collect data relating to litter in Davos.
Become a citizen scientist from your phone and help students by logging litter that you find.
Start by selecting the litter category and checking to see if there is a bin nearby that is in view and accessible, along with your thoughts on where the litter may have originated. Next, use your phones camera to capture photo evidence of the litter. When you click submit, the GPS location is also captured and stored. After submitting, youll be able to view a map of litter detected so far and explore recycling options in Switzerland.
Using this combined information, we can gather data on the common types of litter and hotspots. The photo and GPS location will allow us to ascertain if there is any duplication of litter logged.
